Belfort's train-wreck story - much like the odyssey of mobster-turned-informant Henry Hill in GoodFellas- is that much more captivating because it's true. It starts with Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street on 11/17 in both Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD (a UK only title, but it’s already been released here in the States on both formats by Paramount). I don’t know why that line stood out as a slap in the face among so many other spurious assessments; I had always seen The Wolf of Wall Street as one of Scorsese’s late career crowning achievements, with a pace that grips you by the throat and then never lets go. I went into this review not expecting there to be any real differences between this new 4K release and the perfectly good 1080p release of eight years ago (was it really that long ago? Belfort’s narration enables the show to jump into montage mode to skip forward in time; I guess that the film covers the 1990s and stalls out a few years into the new century.

The Wolf of Wall Street 4K Blu-ray Review | AVForums

With a total of five Oscar nominations, The Wolf of Wall Street certainly received its due accolades. The glamour is indeed eye-catching — the clothes, the cars, that yacht with Jordan’s personal helicopter on top.

Paramount Home Media Distribution has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, and Kyle Chandler. While his loyal band of equally debauched Merry Men are just as charming and awful, it’s Margot Robbie in her breakout role that comes closest to matching DiCaprio – every bit on a par with Sharon Stone in a similar role in Casino, her sexy, sassy and spiky turn rightly created a new mega star and she shines almost the brightest of them all here. Belfort is adept at convincing strangers over the phone that they have a need only he can fill, right now, by signing all their money into his care. The Wolf of Wall Street marked the fifth collaboration betweenScorsese and DiCaprio (three more are reportedly in the works), and it's unquestionably their finest effort to date. When Martin Scorsese collaborates with an actor, it spans decades, and yields some of the most creative work either have produced.

The Wolf Pack (HD; 16:58) is an archival piece with some fun interviews with the principal cast and crew. He doesn’t strain for show-offy signature moments, but instead goes straight for the outrageous truth, with an emphasis on the glamorous trimmings.Eventually the law and craven self-interest make Hill rat out his friends, after which he simmers in the illusion that he embodied something great about America. But it is detailed, rich, musical and energetic, another perfect match to the gonzo hedonism depicted onscreen. But as ever, he showed us all he knew exactly what he was doing – like Belfort before him, Marty was completely in control of his audience and having a blast manipulating us, cajoling us, daring us almost to have as much fun as he was having.

com and Paramount Home Entertainment are offering three members the opportunity to win a Target Exclusive Steelbook copy of acclaimed director Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey, . It’s a dense, textured, filmic image that is bathed in a combination of bright natural sunshine and fluorescent office interiors and deep, thick, chewy shadows. DiCaprio is spellbinding – hilariously OTT, despicably charming, devilishly intelligent, we’re all seduced by this utterly reprehensible character because, well, because of all the fun he’s having.Surrounds are utilized quite well in some of the louder and more crazy drug-induced sequences, or with the score, which Scorsese is well known for picking great music for his films. It is clear that this release has been a labour of love for Arrow – they have given one of Scorsese’s late career masterpieces the edition it deserves. Back in the land of the sane and rational, I’m clearly not the only one who sees The Wolf of Wall Street as one of the jewels in Scorsese’s canon (and boy, are there a lot to choose from). Wall Street in the '80s and '90s was an exaggerated world and Scorsese tells Bellfort's exaggerated story in an exaggerated fashion.
